A few years ago I was scanning receipts into my computer. Touching them with my bare hands, a friend who was watching me pointed out that I should wear gloves when handling thermal paper. I had no idea why. Turns out these receipts are often coated in Bisphenol A, or “BPA”, a hazardous environmental toxin.
