If you’re into gardening, you know about the importance of composting as well. Combine that with your love of cooking and you’ve got a lot of “waste” which could be quite valuable to your plants. Now if we could just quickly and easily get to those fertile components without having to wait much, that would be quite something.
This is why several years ago, I backed the Kalea story on Kickstarter – I loved the team and the concept and whilst they clearly underestimated the complexity of building their innovation, they’ve overcome many pivotal moments successfully and have recently launched the second part of their fundraising campaign under their new brand soilkind — From kitchen waste to compost in 48h:
At a time, where we throw away too much anyways, this seems like a great use of technology to turn waste into something valuable.
Sure, it’s not Back to the Future’s “Mr. Fusion” yet, but hey, who knows — perhaps Kalea’s story could help lead the way?
